Title: Rock S'Kool III - A spanking Good Collection
   Label: SPV Records

Once again the guys and girls at SPV/Steamhammer have put together an almighty DVD full of some fantastic video’s from their roster and I tell you there is something for every taste on this disc.  I've always been a big fan of this particualr collection because the DVD's are always jammed packed with more goodies than Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

All in all there are twenty-four, yes twenty-four storming Heavy Metal and Hard Rock videos included on this the third in this collection.  Ranging from legendary hard rock heroes such as Whitesnake and Saxon to the bright young things coming up Zebrahead, I swear this is my favourite music DVD of 2008.  No kidding this collection ticks all the boxes on my 'must have' sheet and more.  Not only that but it's almost a who's who of the bands the Mayfair Mall  went to see on tour over the past 12 months!  I kid you not!

I'll not let too much away but how could any true rock or metal heart resist such a cintilating collection that includes the likes of Saxon, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Iced Earth and so many more.  What's on offer here is a full 2 hours of steaming hot molten rock and metal that will shake your TV from it's cabinet and is sure to help you get any party started in true rockin' style..

Like most DVD’s the added feature’s are always a bonus and this disc is no different, featuring an additional 30 second snippet of each song from each album featured on the video section, plus a multitude of DVD trailers, and that's in addition to the iPod videos of each track and a CD Rom section as well!  PLUS ... there's an 8 page booklet featuring each of the bands included too!!!

All in all this is a totally rocktastic package that is a MUST for every true rocker and metalhead out there.  In an age when so few bands actually have the money or inclination to actually do a music video to back up their singles, it's truly heart-warming to see a collection like this featuring all the bands you love and some truly wicked videos to back the songs up, many of which I have to admit I had not seen elsewhere prior to getting this DVD, so if like me you like the bands featured on here, and the songs they do, then honestly check this out.  I've seen it offered on more than 1 online music site (legal ones!) for under £10, which is an absolute steel and must be a typo error because this collection is worth a great more than that.

I have to say that the real icing on the cake for me personally was when I saw the mighty NWOBHM band Saxon had not 1, not 2, but 3 videos included on this collection.  Much as I love the rest of the videos on this collection it's Saxon that warm the cockles of this old English heart.  I may not be sweet 16 and rocking in my denim and leathers any more but like Saxon there's still plenty of rock n' metal in this old heart to last me a long time yet.

Another really cool video that deserves to be singled out for a mention is the video for Rhapsody's 'Magic Of The Wizard's Dream', featuring a duet with none other than the legendary master of darkness himself Mr. Christopher Lee, who I must say has a fair set of pipes of him and surprised me with his performance on this particular video.

Do yourself a favour, even if you only plan to buy one music DVD this year, make sure it's this one, because it will remind you what it's like to not only hear but also see in glorious techno-colour the great hard rock and metal songs we have around today.  Anyone who thought rock n' metal were dead and burried obviously haven't wrapped their furry little lugs round these songs.  I promise you whether you're young or not so young, this collection will stir something deep inside that will drag those weary feet along to a live show some time in 2009.
