You'd think supporting a band as wild as Anti Product would be a little
daunting to say the least. Well if it was, these lads showed no sign of
it.
Launching their set with "Bowl" they certainly caught the attention of the
crowd. The pure volume of the guitars was enough to practically knock you
off your feet. The band apologised for the sound of the vocals as they had
all been ill and were still recovering, yet I doubt anyone even noticed as
they sounded on top form.
They forgot to introduce themselves to the crowd though, who could be
heard asking if anyone knew who this band actually were! It was left to
those with a keen eye to spot the band name and website discretely placed
on a speaker on stage!
A combination of heavy guitars and loud drums provided a good heavy rock
sound with a hint of punk. This band have a familiar sound to them and
could be most likened to The Almighty and The Wildhearts.
They've already been signed up by indie label Spank Records, but don't let
the word indie put you off - this lot certainly rock. Through this they've
managed to release Say It With Vodka (ep). While this is good it doesn't
do them justice, you could try listening to it at full volume to get the
effect or better still just get yourself along to one of their gigs! If
you manage to get your hands on a copy, Trevor's Influence and Bowl Me
Over will give a feel for the band live.
This is a band worth keeping an eye on and going to see live as soon as
you can. They're on tour until the beginning of June, check out their
website for details.
