Artist: Shameless Venue: Rios, Bradford Date: 19 October 2002 |
| Firstly I
would just like to say sorry to The Plastics for the poor turnout
tonight at Rio's. After the Pretty Boy Floyd and Faster Pussycat
gig were saw at this very same venue a few moths earlier, we, much like
them, expected the punters to be queuing round the block to get in at
doors open. I thought, and probably the promoter did also, that
this being the final date of the Tuff tour, that more than a few people
would be coming back to see the band perform a second, or even third
time again on this tour. The Plastics still gave it everything they had, despite the near empty venue. Delivering their own style of attitude rock that was wasted on those who couldn't be bothered to drag themselves away from the bar. The Plastics are certainly one of those bands that although not the most original band on the block, they certainly have that X factor that makes you want to keep an eye out for them playing again somewhere. They are very much in your face with lots of sneers, bucket loads of attitude, and some really solid rock songs. One to watch out for in future. Then on came Shameless and a few
more people managed to make an appearance. Thanking everybody who had turned
up tonight to see the bands, he then went on to suggest that perhaps
next time we might like to consider bringing along a few friends with
us. Fair do's. The turnout was pitiful and it was more the
fault of the punters than the bands who had come all this way to perform
for us here tonight. The last song of the night was a firm favourite with all their groupies ... 'Queen 4 A Day'. After all those smoldering looks Steve Summers had been handing out throughout the set, along with most of the rest of the band, I wonder how many 'Queens' they would be crowning tonight?
