StoryBoard are Wicklow’s answer to the likes of Lost Prophets / Blink 182 / My Chemical Romance.  In the last year they have built up a large local following and have also found a lot of support through Facebook and MySpace (almost 18 thousand hits).  It is a tough road for new bands these days.  Gone are the lucrative record contracts which guaranteed great money and exposure. Young bands today have to slog hard to find the right people to back them as well as deal with gruelling touring schedules to try and get themselves out there. This job is not for the faint hearted. However, these lads are certainly willing to give the music business a go!!

‘Inglewoodstock’ was a small outdoor charity event to support the RNLI in Arklow, Co Wicklow.  StoryBoard took a chance at this gig and played mostly original material. This can be risky, but I certainly think it will pay off for them in the long run (no one wants to be just a cover band!!).  They were energetic, engaging and confident on stage and each of the 5 members of the band were working hard at their respective crafts.

The lead singer has fine tuned his vocal ability and the lead guitarist is a natural born musician.  I managed to catch StoryBoard do the following 2 of their own songs in a passionate and professional manner - ‘This Last Time’, ‘Headlights and Profanity’ and their cover version of ‘The Rock Show’ by Blink 182 (which I didn’t think showed off the bands full potential).  Keep up the work lads, as one of these days…………..
