Artist: Therapy

Venue:  The Academy, Dublin

Date: 15 May 2009

Having never seen Therapy live before, I jumped at the chance of seeing them in The Academy, Dublin.  It is a nice intimate venue with a great sound system (due to the fact it used to be a night club).  The place was jammers, but thankfully I had the pleasure of having a nice viewing spot from the balcony.

The three lads from Therapy have aged gracefully and very relaxed and laid back on stage.  This did not mean that they were not in top form, in fact they were on fire!!  They began to a loud cheer from the crowd that got louder and louder as the night went on.

Andy Cairns trade mark po-going was still there and the crowd followed suit.  They sang a great selection of songs which seemed cover all of the audience’s requests.  The songs included 'Justice', 'Unbeliever', 'Polar Bear' and 'Hate Summer', as well as their recent release - 'I Told You I Was Ill'.  The crowd loved it and a few mosh circles actually appeared (much to the annoyance of the security).

With a new album 'Crooked Timber' under their belt, it's great to see them on the circuit again and I have no doubt that the next time they are in Dublin, they will play in a much bigger venue.
