MM - What made you decide to reform the band after all this time?
The Almighty was such a big part of our lives for so long when we split up
it was very hard to fill that void, as myself Stump and Floyd had been in
bands together since we were at school, also we started getting ideas for
songs again it just felt unfinished, we should have taken a break and not
split up, but then hindsight is a great thing.
MM - What main factors influenced your decision to bring Nick Parsons into
the band?
When we auditioned Nick was by far the best and of course we were aware of
his background with Whatever, so we were also getting a songwriter, vocalist
as well as a cool guitarist plus he has that sick sense of humour you need
to be in a band with us.
MM - 'Crank' was a much heavier sound than that of the new album, was this a
conscious decision to go back to the tried and tested Almighty formula?
We just write the songs the way we feel them over the years I think we
have developed The Almighty sound, I think this album is just as heavy as
Crank listen to tracks like La Chispa De La Muerte, Broken Machine you don't
get much heavier than that!
MM - How would you describe a typical fan of The Almighty?
I would never describe an Almighty fan as typical, they are all ages, all
denominations and all very loyal, they way it should be.
MM - The new album features Floyd London playing bass, is there any chance
of him rejoining the band full-time?
Floyd London is back in The Almighty full time!!!!
MM - What does the picture on the front of the new album represent?
The cover was designed by Koot who designed the Soul Destruction album its
based on the yin and yang idea the new destroying the old.
MM - You have a busy schedule ahead of you, which countries will you be
visiting?
We are off to Germany next for 9 shows then the UK over the next 12 months
we will be playing everywhere we can.
MM - Out of all The Almighty tracks done over the years, what is your
personal favourite?
It changes all the time and depends what mood I'm in this week it's 'For
Fucks Sake'.
MM - For anyone who isn't familiar with the band and it's sound, how would
you best describe it?
