MM - Hi there, would you like to start by introducing the band members
to us and telling us where you call home?
We are currently having a change of line-up right now but at this moment
the
members are: Tomas Kronvall - bass, Oscar Tenfäldt - guitar, Andreas Lantz
-keyboards and vocals.
We are rehearsing in Lund, Sweden.
MM - When was the band formed and how did you discover each others mutual
taste in making music?
Andreas knew Tomas from, believe it or not a Telepathy experiment that was
part of his Masterīs thesis in Psychology. Tomas was one of the
subjects in
this experiment and Andreas asked Tomas if he wanted to start a band with
him. Tomas started to write great guitar parts for 2040 and Meant to Be
etc.
Andreas knew that he was indeed serious despite that Tomas was more
interweird time signatures.
Oscar has only been in the band for 2 months and is a true lover of most
music.
MM - How would you describe your music to someone who isn't
familiar with the band?
Paradise Lost meets Sentenced with some touches of Rammstein thrown in
here
and there. The lyrics are different in general though
MM - The band currently have a 3 track demo cd available, would you
like to tell us a little bit about each of the songs on it?
Meant To be - A song with a bit of Siddharta feel. Lotīs of
tremeloguitar but
the pace is pretty slow. The chorus contains a great guitarhook.
Itīs a song
about unlucky love
Havenīt Been Found - A song about an unknown creature hat will surprise a
whole world when itīs existence is proven within a few year.
2040 - A song about the future and the tragic things that will take place.
Listen and remember the lyrics. Itīs not fiction but a prediction that
everybody should hear.
MM - How can people keep in touch with what the band are up to? Would you
like to tell the readers what your website address is?
We try to send individual messages to every Street Team member and
personal
communications is a lot better if possible.
I would recommend that people check out our myspace site at
www.myspace.com/sevencircles
or e-mail Andreas at
magikern_andy@hotmail.com
MM - Are there any plans in the pipeline for a debut album in the near
future?
We will probably release a demo with new songs first since itīs so hard to
find a good record deal these days.
MM - Which Seven Circles song is your personal favourite and why?
Our knew song Laws of Fashion since itīs a lot catchier and faster then
the old ones. It will be on our next recording.
MM - What's it like coming from Sweden and trying to break into the music
industry? Is there a supportive network for new music where you live?
Itīs surprisingly hard to sell a lot music in Sweden since the kids assume
that music is free to download from the net. Rock and metal is doing well
but the market is too small and saturated.
Swedish rockbands are very respected outside Sweden, thankfully.
MM - What can your fans expect from a Seven Circles live show?
A lot stage antics from Andreas. He may have the best stage charisma in
goth
actually. Just check out the videoclip on our website. You an find it at
www.fryde.com/lantzrock/mp3.htm
MM - What bands/artists have influenced you over the years and which bands
are you listening to at the moment?
Tomas is influenced by Pain of Salvation and Tool. Andreas is influenced
by
everything from classical music to My Dying Bride.
MM - What's the most memorable concert you've been to (other than
your own) and why?
Andreas saw Shawn Lane just 3 months before he died and also got a record
signed by the great man afterwards.
Shawn Lane was an awesome player that made ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons fall of
his chair, made Ted Nugent look like a fool when he had a guitar duel with
him at the age of 14.
Tomas and Oscar are not sure about their most memorable concert.
MM - Where did you get such a cryptic band name? What is the meaning
behind it?
Tomas came up with it and we decided to keep it. It works great if you are
out of ideas for a logo too.
MM - What one possession could you not live without right now?
Andreas couldnīt live without his computer and that may be true for Tomas
and Oscar too.
MM - What's your idea of fun? Are you serious by nature or a bundle of
mischief?
Not at all. It just that you have to work hard and not just party all the
time if you want to make in the music business today.
MM - Tell us one thing about yourself that not many people know.
Andreas have been chased by vampires in Venzuela (bats) and got an
unwanted
shower from an elephantīs truck on his birthday. Tomas likes to
knit and Oscar canīt come up with anything.
MM - Where do you hope to see Seven Circles in 5 years time?
On the stages of the world performing.
MM - If you could spend just one day with anyone in the world (past or
present) who would it be and why?
It would seem very Rockīn Roll to say a hot girl but we would love spend a
day with D.D. Holmes the famous physical medium and see if he had any
supernatural powers.
MM - Who do you think influenced the world of Metal/Rock more than any
other person, for better or for worse?
Richie Blackmore or Tony Iommi we guess. Since their way of playing the
guitar is so important for rock guitar.
MM - Lastly, is there anything you would like to say to all your fans out
there?
Anybody can join our Street Team and earn lotīs of money.
Just e-mail
magikern_andy@hotmail.com
for more info.
