MM
- Introduce the band member to us and how
did you all meet?
Seven Wishes are: Tony Westgård, Bass.
Pelle Andersson, Lead vocals.
Anthony Cedergren, Guitars.
Everything started some years ago when I and Anthony met each other. At
that time we were so fucking tired of all the losers we used to play with
- No goals at all and an extremely lazy attitude. So we decided to start a
band to be proud of. After a lot of searching we found Pelle and suddenly,
Seven Wishes was born.
MM - Where do the band call home?
For the moment our home is in the studio. We're spending so much time To
try to record the best album ever ;-)
MM - Describe your music and who would it most
appeal to?
Well we've always loved the sound from the 80's, you know, Dokken, RATT,
XYZ etc. So I guess that we're sounding something like that but with a
little more updated sound.
Very difficult question to answer! People who like hardrock with a lot of
great melodies should check us out! We really think that a song without
good melodies is a bad song!
MM - Your debut album 'Seven Wishes - Seven
Wishes' is out at present. Where can we get a taste of this and how can
it be obtained?
If you're curious about our debut album, we advice you to surf to our
website:
www.sevenwishes.com,
there you'll find some mp3's. Pretty soon there will be samples from our
forthcoming album "UTOPIA" (Release February 5:th 2001 in Europe) as well.
If you wanna order our music, you'll find some links to different outlets
around the world on our site.
MM - Who writes and composes the songs that
you do?
On the debut, I (Tony) was the main songwriter. On the next album I've
been writing most of the stuff with Antony. I've also composed a track
"Don't Fade Away" together with Pontus Norgren (Talisman, Great King Rat).
Another song on the new album is called "Justify" and it's written by some
really good friends to us Linda Gustafsson and Laila Samuels from the
Norwegian Power Pop band The Tuesdays.
MM - If you could do a cover version of any
song, what would it be?
Ha, ha, ha! We always wanted to cover anything by Dokken. Finally it has
been done! We've recorded "Unchain The Night" and you'll find it on the
"UTOPIA" album!!!!!
MM - You are currently working on a new studio
album, tell us how its going.
Everything is going great. Of course it is a very hard job to record an
album, absolutely no glamour at all. Sometimes it's like hell and you just
want to puke on everything and sometimes when things really turns out the
way you wanted it's like heaven.
We've just finished the recordings and we're actually really proud of the
result!
MM - Next year you are scheduled to play the
Z2001 rock festival in Manchester, England. Will you be doing any other
dates over here while you're over?
It feels just wonderful that our company asked us to come back to England
again, that means that they trust us and appreciate what we're doing. It's
a great opportunity for us to meet our foreign label mates.
We're really looking forward to that gig! No more dates are planned in
England unless you guys harassing Z Records and demands it! (Please, do
that, DO THAT!!! ;-)
MM - What was the last CD you bought?
Hmmm. I guess it was Rob Halford "Resurrection" and Nocturnal Rites
"Afterlife". Extremely great albums!
MM - What band/artist has influenced you the
most and why?
I grew up with bands like Sweet, The Runaways. (It is Lita Fords "fault"
that I always wanted to play on a Hamer explorer bass because she used to
play on that guitar model). Right now I'm sitting on my ass waiting for Hamer guitars to call me up and offer me an endorsement deal ;-) My biggest
influences today is bands like Dokken, RATT and Talisman.
MM -What's your favourite track off the debut
album?
My favourite tracks from our debut is Life Goes On, We Want It All,
Confirm The Action. Hard question.
MM - If you could choose any 5 musicians
alive or dead, to form a rock supergroup, who would they be?
Easy. Marcel Jacob or Billy Sheehan on bass. Yngwie Malmsteen and Zakk
Wylde on Guitars. Vikki Foxx or Tommy Lee on drums. Tony Harnell, David
Coverdale or Rob Halford on vox.
MM - What's your most treasured possession?
My family and the opportunity to play music and record albums. Have a
laugh and some beers with my dear friends
MM - Are any of the member involved in other
bands?
No, our priority is Seven Wishes. Always.
MM - Lastly, what short phrase would best sum
up the band?
We're here to entertain, enjoy the ride!!!!
