MM -Tell us about your new album 'Since Sixty-Six', how would you best describe its sound?
My new solo CD is much more of a rock n' roll kind of sound. The first CD was more of an acoustic based singer/songwriter type of disc. I would say it's a lot closer to sounding like TUFF than the my debut. There is a remake of the TUFF track "Don't Complain" and a cover of the Air Supply song "All out of Love". It sounds like a huge power ballad.

MM - Do you keep in contact with the guys from Tuff?

I talk to Michael and Todd usually at least once a month and sometimes more. Jorg and I have talked a few times this year but not too often as he lives in Florida. I still talk to Jamie weekly and have occasional chats with Jimi & Danny too. Remember, there was a few different guys in the band over a 10 year period.

Stevie RachelleMM - Any plans for a European/UK tour in the near future?

With me solo, TUFF 2000 or Shameless? Probably not me solo and possibly TUFF 2000 but we'll have to wait and see. As for Shameless, that is a project based out of Germany and ironically I just got home from a two week tour in Europe with them. I sang some guest spot vocals on both of their CDs and they asked me to come and front the band so I did. It was a great time and I hope to go back.

MM - What have you been up to since Tuff split up?

I released my 2 solo CDs, produced a CD for The Mistakes and also did 3 CDs with a group called Cheeseheads with Attitude. The C.W.A. project is kind of like a Beastie Boys/Al Yankovic project. Lots of fun and too hard too explain. For more info. on any of the above please visit

MM - Do you have anyone lined up yet for Tuff 2000?

Yes, Darrell Roberts is playing guitar. He played in a popular Sunset Strip band back in the early 90s called Truth or Dare. Then Brian Saunders is on Bass and Tony Eckholm on Drums. Both of these guys had played in a group called GIVE. They originally had that band based in Minneapolis but moved to LA about 3 years ago. After GIVE broke up I asked if they'd be into playing with me and then we found Darrell after checking out a few different guys.

MM - You are probably most famous for being in Tuff, but what other bands have you featured in?
Hmmmmm, well if you want them all: X-Iter, Talon, Tuff, Cheeseheads with Attitude, Trailer Park Posse and the Stevie Rachelle Band.

MM - What are your plans for the future?

Make music, play it, sell it, tour, eat, sleep, skateboard, snowboard, workout, have sex, have some kids, etc.......

MM - Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Is your glass half full or half empty?

I drink what's in my glass so it's never half full or half empty?!?

FistMM - Out of all the Tuff songs you ever did, what's your personal favourite and why?

Probably, I Hate Kissing You Goodbye because it was the MTV video that helped make a TUFF a name and I was also the original writer of that song too. It had contributions from the other TUFF members and a few co-writers but it originated from me so I would say that song.

MM - If you could meet any one person out of Rock History , alive or dead, who would it be?

Elvis for sure, he is and was everything rock n' roll, and he had it all. That is what most people and most rockers dream about.

MM - Which bands do you like to listen to at the present?

Lit, Kid Rock, Marvellous 3,

MM - What was the last CD you bought?

The Cult Electric, I had to learn a vocal for a tribute CD I'm singing on of theirs.

MM - What's the most outrageous thing you've ever done in the name of Rock N' Roll?

I plead the fifth!

MM - If you could do a cover version of any song, what would it be?

I have a new one in mind, it's going to be a hit too, I hope! SO.... I can't tell you yet. But keep this information to Tufflook back on and we'll see if I'm right. The only hint is: Irish!

MM - How would you like to see rock music progress in the new Millenium?

I would like it to progress further into my bank account in the way of dollars and cents! If anyone wants more information on anything TUFF or Stevie Rachelle related please visit my site at
