About: Soulcage is
a rock n' roll machine from the heavy metal music loving country of
Finland. The music of Soulcage has many qualities, boasting an
addictive radio-friendly sound with a diverse style which mixes rock,
pop and progressive influences, making them a truly unique and
refreshing listen. They sound on album, offer thought-provoking
music videos and they pack a real punch live. In addition
they're a fun-loving bunch of guys complete with the weirdest sense of
humour (which they amicably blame on being Finnish ...), which makes
for great interviews!
The band members themselves are some of Finland's finest musicians. The band's singer Aleksi is a vocal coach himself, having coached talents such as Ari Koivunen, the most popular 'Idols' contest winner in Finland. Aleksi's backing vocals can be heard on the albums of fellow compatriots including Stratovarius, Kiuas and Ensiferum, and he arranged both albums for Northern Kings. Ville is one of the most recognised drummers in the country, having attended many drum clinics organised by the Drummers' Association of Finland. Jari was voted as the 'best bass shredder of the year' after winning the Bassosoolon SM competition in 2008. The new album 'Soul For Sale' was released in the UK on 23rd April 2010 through Hellas Records Ltd (www.hellasrecords.com) and is being distributed by Plastic Head. Check out our review of the bands album in our CD Review section! The first single released from the album 'Soul For Sale' was 'My Canvas, My Skin' and reached #8 and #10 on the official Finnish Download and Singles charts respectively. 'Soul For Sale' is a great listen from start to finish and is crammed with radio-friendly tunes, catchy riffs and inspiring vocals. But don't just take our word for it - have a listen! |
